Champion Hearts

Champion Hearts is a Wisconsin team of registered echocardiographers will be doing the screening for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy and other heart abnormalities at Big Foot High School in the Large Gym on Saturday, May 19 from 9:00am until 1:00pm. This condition is the most common cardiovascular cause of sudden death in athletes. Anyone can have the condition, not just athletes, so screening should not be limited to athletes. About 1 in 500 people have this condition.  It is open for any student who is 13 or older.   Parents, not the school, are notified of results.  Parents can accompany their student during the procedure. It takes about 15 minutes and a signed waiver from parents.  Parents are responsible for any follow-up. There are a few spots open so if interested please contact Maureen Christopher at Big Foot HS for times available at 262-275-2116 ext. 5110.  The cost is $35.00 per student payable at time of service. Cash or checks only.

WILLIAMS BAY JUNIOR HIGH IS RECOGNIZED

We have been informed that Williams Bay Junior High School has been recognized by The Association of Wisconsin School Administrators (AWSA), as an Exemplary Middle School!  The school was recognized for achieving math scores in the top ten percent and experiencing significant growth in math.  A statewide press release  recognizing all Exemplary Middle Schools will be issued in the near future by the DPI.  Status as an Exemplary Middle School also entitles our school to apply for the Middle School of Excellence Award.   We are very proud of our students and staff for achieving at such a high level.
